Sports performance Coach - Teens/Collegiate/Adults

Reports to: Owner/Head Coach

Primary Outcomes: Help athletes hit personal bests in Weightlifting, Speed and Sports metrics. Any of our coaches are expected to help athletes get performance PRs within a 3 month time frame in any of our metrics.

Time Commitment: Part Time

Description: We’re looking to add passionate and driven coaches to help our athletes. If you have experience with high school varsity and/or collegiate sports and care deeply about developing teenagers and adult athletes, then we want to hear from you!

Sports Performance Coaches will work with our GiffyFit Teens, The Lions Club and our Adult Team Sport athletes to help them reach their goals. We have athletes ranging from high school prep athletes, collegiate athletes all the way up to professional and national team members.

The right person for this role displays and prioritizes major leadership qualities and professionalism involving community, volunteerism, inclusion, a focus on relationships and communication, as well as emotional maturity and a commitment to quality. Prospective coaches must have life experience that they can use to work with our athletes, who come from many diverse backgrounds.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional, growth oriented and a passion for health

  • Preference given to those with a background in Sports Specific training, collegiate athletes, Weightlifting, CrossFit training and club sports

  • Preference given to coaches who can write and implement programs

  • Relevant Training and Coaching certifications (USAW, NASM, CrossFit, PN, etc)

  • Preference given to those with a college degree

  • First Aid/CPR Certified (or obtained within 30 days of onboarding)

GROUP COACH - ADULTS

Reports to: Owner/Head Coach

Primary Outcomes: Run an amazing group fitness experience, be a respected and active leader in our community. Coach adults to help reach their goals by helping execute on class plans and personalized coaching. Help athletes improve, help general population adults stay pain free and work through bumps on that journey.

Time Commitment: Part Time

Description: We’re looking to add passionate and driven coaches to our Adults program. If you have experience with your own personal fitness journey and wake up in the morning wanting to help others - this job is for you!

Group Coaches in our Adult program will work with our Adult athletes and help them reach their goals. You will work with a wide range of fitness backgrounds and abilities, ranging from former collegiate athletes to people just starting their health journey in their 40s and 50s. In order to be successful in this role, you have to LOVE the process and patience that comes with working with the beginner, and the possess the empathy that comes with helping someone manage the balance of life stress and fitness.

YOUTH COACH - KIDS/PRE-K/Pre-Teens

We’re looking to add coaches to our Youth and Pre-K programs! Coaching kids is all about pairing fitness with fun, and prioritizing character development.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional, people focused and solution oriented

  • Preference given to those with a background in CrossFit training, Kids coaching, personal training

  • Preference given to teachers (K-12) or childcare

  • CrossFit Kids Certificate or Brand X Professional Youth Coach Certification (can be obtained during internship process)

  • First Aid/CPR Certified (or obtained within 30 days of onboarding)

Coach ApprenticeshIP

The Gifford Fitness Apprenticeship program is a flexible learning and employee development program intended to teach young potential coaches the basics of the fitness industry and help develop potential future career opportunities.

The responsibilities of the Apprentice depend on the needs of the gym, which will vary over time.

You will be a coaching assistant to Nick Gifford, our owner and head coach, shadowing and assisting in multiple sessions per week. You’ll learn the ins and outs of the industry, developing personal skills and character that bring success in the fitness and training world.

Schedule

  • Participants need to be able to work anywhere from 3-6 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Assistant Coach with relevant programs: Kids, Teens, Adults, Legends, or Team Training

  • Room setup and breakdown

  • Coach/staff development attendance

  • Study training resources and materials, as assigned

  • Administrative tasks, as assigned
