CF-L1 | Group Coach

I started competitive traveling sports at the age of eight and was a multi-sport varsity athlete (Swimming, Skiing, Softball) throughout high school, before settling into collegiate softball at the University of Northwestern - St. Paul. I have always loved fitness and specifically strength training, and in 2010, in the lull of not knowing what was next after collegiate sport, I saw some friends doing CrossFit on Instagram and started in my living room, adapting workouts from “dot com” and whatever else I could cull from workouts I saw online! I dropped into a ton of gyms while traveling and finally settled into a gym home in 2013.

Through CrossFit, I found Olympic Lifting and found it to be the mental and physical challenge that was missing from the normal everyday in the gym. In 2014, I started competing in the sport of Weightlifting, making my first national competition in 2016 and winning my first national medals in 2019. I love the challenge of high-performance weightlifting and love being on a platform!

I began my coaching career in 2015, coaching CrossFit, Weightlifting, and Sports Nutrition. After a short break to focus on my personal life, I joined the crew at Gifford Fitness to have a group to train around, and shortly thereafter, Nick asked me if I wanted to get back to coaching, and I said absolutely!

My primary goal as a coach is to develop well-rounded athletes who are strong not only in their lifts but also in their character, confidence, and commitment to their sport. Specializing in Olympic lifting and working with athletes from their teenage years through adulthood, I aim to build a foundation of sound technique, physical and mental resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for training and sport.

Outside of the gym, I work full-time in corporate finance and love to help out by volunteering with multiple organizations. I also enjoy strategy board games, cooking new things, and spending time with my husband and our very spoiled rescue, Dagny.
